Good News Club Bulletin--JANUARY 2013

“A child is a person who is going to carry on what you started. He is going to sit where you are sitting, and when you are gone attend to those things you think are unimportant. You may adopt the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him. He will assume control of your cities, states, and nations. He is going to move in and take over your churches, schools, universities, and corporations—and the fate of humanity is in his hands.
--President Abraham Lincoln

Reach Today’s Child and Impact the Next Generation!

We praise the Lord for the current partnership of more than 50 local churches in 75 weekly Good News Bible Clubs in elementary schools across our area! There are nearly 600 schools on our mission field—may the Lord place a Good News Club in each one!

If your church or Christian group would like to offer a Good News Club for the children in your local public elementary school this winter/spring, please contact us today!

How does your church or group adopt a school?
1. Prayerfully target an elementary school in your community. CEF will help arrange and conduct any needed meeting(s) with the school to discuss the club.
2. Trust God to raise up a team of 5 or more people to teach & help at the club. Follow-up is also needed.
3. CEF provides training, ongoing leadership support, and has teaching materials. Maximum monthly cost for a club is $50-$60.

Make a difference for Christ this summer
CYIA 2013!

Christian Youth-in-Action (or CYIA) is the summer missions program of CEF. It is for high school students (incoming freshmen are welcome as well) and includes two weeks of intense training to prepare the young people to lead an exciting Bible club program called 5-Day Club. After CYIA, they return to the local area to teach a minimum of three weeks of 5-Day Clubs (usually three clubs per day). The summer missionaries teach all elements of the club including the Bible lesson, missions time, songs, memory verse, review game as well as conduct an exciting, relationship-building game time.

Jr. Christian Youth-in-Action is the training program for our summer missionary assistants. Jr. CYIA is open to those who will be entering 7th or 8th grade the following fall. They attend a Friday evening/Saturday training where they learn how to assist the summer missionaries in the 5-Day Club. They learn how to teach songs, memory verses, review games, and a missions story as well as how to build relationships with the children. Jr. CYIA students commit to assisting in a minimum of two weeks of 5-Day Clubs.

Christian Youth-in-Action training will be held on June 9-22 in Hannibal, MO. Jr. CYIA training will be held on May 3-4 at CEF Headquarters in Warrenton, MO.   For more information, please contact Christy Heath at (816) 322-5152, ext. 1216 or email:
